The Blah Season?

Autumn is a wonderful season to mix and match textures as well as combining colour and switch hues. I am of the belief that one becomes more colour conscious in the cooler months. Guess it has to deal with getting darker earlier,  shorter days, the masking of sunlight or all around blah! What ever the reason always best to dress chipper and have just a little peep in your step. The outfit colours and these booties did just that for me.

Purple is one of those colours that highly complements my skin tone. Given that I am really loving coloured bottoms and booties for the season. Why not combine two great loves in one outfit. With a few basics - white shirt and accessories. It is a outfit made in fashion heaven.

Glam Mel-Shim

Wearing metallics and shimmers in daylight hours can be one of those fashion statements that can go horribly wrong if not done in good taste. A burst of “glam stuff” can seem that you are getting in a few day light hours before you hit the club later on; or you have been to the disco and decided to keep the party going. Either, Or poor taste is like a vampire roaming the streets past sun rise. I have been very cautious of embracing this fashion fade. As you can tell I am more than a  sceptical not only the fashion statement. But also the event; the context for the glam exposure, so many factor to take into an account it is a wonder. Oh, well being the big girl that I am and through caution to the wind I embraced the glamorous metallic shimmer (Glam Mel-Shim) after noon but before sun set.

Having been invited to a swanky luncheon with evening entertainment; I opted for my metallic shimmer number (finally).  I got this statement top from ASOS ages ago; and never wore it. It is one of those pieces that I could have endless potential for a night out. A very versatile piece as the cut can be worn in the front or back. For this event I chose to be subtly bold by having the cut in the back. Thus creating a statement piece that was understated; I further subdued the daytime glam mel-shim with basic black shorts, Cinderella slip-ons and minimal accessories. Thus keeping the modestly elegant top as the centre fold of the look.

Simply Navy

This time of year is absolutely wonderful for scenic, panoramic shots. Literally every bloggers dream. with the changing of the leaves visibility of different textures. It is a canvas that can be captured in so many ways.

With mother nature taking her own approach to the season It is only fair that my fashion should mimic her weather pattern. Ultimately it is the best time for boots, lots and lots of layering.

I recently acquired this faux leather jacket. In a stunning navy blue (in some angles your would think it is black) its just the right piece for light washed or faded coloured skinny jeans for this outfit I choose grey with dark toned (black) biker boots. Paired with a vibrant cardigan not only as layering piece but also a bit of warmth (dual purpose) over a basic white top offers the perfect 3 tier contrast. Minimal chic accessories off the right combination for a wonderful day.

School Crush

I am not one to usually flock the season trends I am more of a comfort kinda gyal. But there are usually a few bits and bobs that tickle my fancy. This season of course is by no means any different.

As the days have gotten shorter and the nights are a little, ok, ALOT cooler it only felt right to embrace my newly found tatarn skirt. I am pretty sure this will be a staple piece in the cooler months. Weather permitting it will be well loved.

With such a bold pattern it is easy to gravitate to a neutral colour it is easy to gravitate to a neutral coloured top. I felt the need to take one stable colour and that as the focal point. Accessorised with silver and white as highlight to the dark palette; creates a fabulous combination that is much loved.

Hey Yo Shortie!

I feel as if I am in a crowded room and should explain myself- primarily my reason for being so absent. “Hi my name is Dye and ...................... life took over”. That’s a fair explanation right. Now that has been sorted. With Mother Nature in absolute turmoil who knows what  wear yet alone being fashionable.

Great inspiration can be pooled from little the things. This outfit was the brainchild of my .99 cents shorts. On a good fall day shorts, tights and a blazer is my all time favourite combination with my much-loved booties perfection at its best. What can I say the pieces just fit - bouncing back from the sniffles my latest fine for the season a woolly blazer offered the perfect comfort for the fluctuating temperatures.

Frock it!

Oh, yes “Frock” a very old English expression for a dress. Not often used today but I have heard it used callocally in the Caribbean or by older ladies of a different era. With a theatre performance to attend thought I ought to get a little dressed-up.

You can never go wrong with a dress, colour blocked is an added bounce for a stylish look that is effortless. Adding a few bits and bobs very minimal (extremely comfy black heeled saddles, bracelet, watch, pearl knobs).................... voila all frocked up.

Spin that record

Today was a running errands kind of day. With multiple activities lined up thought it best to be near the ground and as comfy as I could be.

Jumper -Kmart | Top -Gap |Jeans - Walmart | Shoes – Sams | Bag – Thrifted

One can never go wrong with comfortable flats. These babies are supper comfy as they are padded. Worn with basic jeans, tee, a jumper (sweater) doubling as an accent piece and a bit of warmth. I am not one for long necklaces but I got this record from Asos ages ago and I absolutely love it. All paired together effortless and truly comfy to face the day.
