Wearing metallics and shimmers in daylight hours can be one
of those fashion statements that can go horribly wrong if not done in good
taste. A burst of “glam stuff” can seem that you are getting in a few day light
hours before you hit the club later on; or you have been to the disco and
decided to keep the party going. Either, Or poor taste is like a vampire roaming
the streets past sun rise. I have been very cautious of embracing this fashion fade.
As you can tell I am more than a sceptical not only the fashion statement. But also the event; the context for the glam exposure, so many factor to take into an account it is a wonder. Oh, well being
the big girl that I am and through caution to the wind I embraced the glamorous
metallic shimmer (Glam Mel-Shim) after noon but before sun set.
Having been
invited to a swanky luncheon with evening entertainment; I opted for my metallic
shimmer number (finally). I got this statement
top from ASOS ages ago; and never wore it. It is one of those pieces that I could
have endless potential for a night out. A very versatile piece as the cut can
be worn in the front or back. For this event I chose to be subtly bold by
having the cut in the back. Thus creating a statement piece that was
understated; I further subdued the daytime glam mel-shim with basic black shorts,
Cinderella slip-ons and minimal accessories. Thus keeping the modestly elegant
top as the centre fold of the look.
